A few months back Vodafone launched a number of “Smart 6” devices. The Smart First 6 was a budget device aimed at first time Smartphone users, whilst the Smart Ultra 6 and the Tab Prime 6 were aimed at the more tech savvy and delivered more powerful hardware. Today, they’ve announced the Vodafone Smart Speed 6, another alternative for the budget conscious.
Today, Vodafone have announced the Smart Speed 6 device, manufactured by Alcatel. The Smart Speed 6 comes with a 4.5″ display with a resolution of FWVGA (854 x 480), a 5MP fixed focus rear camera with a 2MP front facing camera, 1GB RAM with 8GB of internal storage, although the device supports up to 32GB microSD cards.
The Vodafone Smart Speed 6 also houses a 1780 mAh battery and a Mediatek Quad-core 1.0Ghz MT6735M chipset. The 64bit MT6735M is on par with the Snapdragon 410 chipset in terms of performance and is capable of up to 1080p playback at 30fps. Software-wise we’re looking at Android 5.1 out of the gate.
Whilst this sort of news isn’t going to enthuse the spec-heads out there, it might be a nice little device to get for those non-technical members of your family with Christmas just around the corner. The Vodafone Smart Speed 6 is available on 4G bundles for just £50 PAYG.
