If you’re looking into expanding the storage on your phone, but the 128GB limit at this moment isn’t enough for you? You’ll be happy to know that Samsung officially announced the worlds first 256GB microSD card.
Not only the amount of storage is amazing, the specs are great as well. The new card boasts read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 90MB/s, although these are theoretical speeds. The microSD card has the capacity to store 12 hours of 4K-UHD video, 33 hours of Full-HD video or even 55.000 photos at one time. Samsung specifically points out that this microSD card is great to use with action cameras and 360-degrees video recorders. As with almost every other microSD card, its also waterproof, temperature-proof, X-ray-proof and magnetic-proof.
256GB SD card Availability
The microSD card will be available starting in June 2016 for a price of $249,99 dollar in the US or €250 euro in Europe. On top of all the storage goodness, you also get a limited 10-years warranty in more than 50 countries across the world.
