Here in London on a cold Thursday morning, Wileyfox held an event in a trendy London cafe/coffee shop and launched the Swift 2 X. If you don’t know what the Swift 2 X is, it is a slightly higher end version if the Swift 2 Plus that we reviewed a few months ago.
The Swift 2 X has a pretty impressive spec sheet, with a 5.2″ 1080p IPS screen with a beautiful lamination job, good viewing angles and a nice, if somewhat cool colour temperature. It still has the same Snapdragon 430 SoC, and If like me, you were worried if the Adreno 5 05 could handle the 1080p screen, worry no more, from our first hands-on, we saw no signs of lag or slow-down, which we loved.
There is the standard 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, as well as a MicroSD slot that Wileyfox themselves tell me is verified for up to 128GB cards, but that a 256GB might work, but they haven’t tested compatibility for it.
The screen is covered with Gorilla Glass (but they won’t tell me what generation, so I’m going to swing for a Gen 3 panel. It is also rated for up to 400 nits, which is bloody bright, so that is impressive. The Battery has seen a jump to 3010mAh up from 2800mAh, but mostly everything else has stayed the same.
The Wileyfox Swift 2 X is priced at £220.
This is just our brief hands-on off the Swift 2 X, but look forward to our review in the coming weeks.
