At an event in London today, British Smartphone manufacturers, WileyFox announced a trio of new handsets, the WileyFox Spark, Spark + and Spark X.
Triple Threat?
The WileyFox Spark is an entry level device sporting a 5″ 720p display, a 1.3Ghz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD slot, 2200 mAh battery and an 8MP front and rear camera. The really attractive aspect of this entry level unit is the price; a budget friendly £89.99. Many will view this as a first smartphone, and not something power users are going to be looking at.
If you’re after a little more power for daily activities, WileyFox have other options for you.
WileyFox Spark+
Next up, it’s the WileyFox Spark+. As you might guess, this is a slightly more heavily specified device than the Spark, offering the same 5″ 720p display, front facing camera, battery capacity and quad-core processor, but delivers 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage space, as well as a 13MP rear camera. If you’re interested in this mid-range line up from WileyFox, expect to be parting with only £25 extra, as the Spark+ comes in at £114.99.
WileyFox Spark X
Time for the big boys. The WileyFox Spark X is the final entry in their 2016 line up but the specifications are largely the same as the Spark+ with only the inclusion of a 5.5″ display and a 3000 mAh battery differing from it’s lesser sibling. This is however reflected in the price. Coming in at just £129.99 we expect many looking at budget-orientated devices such as this, will look to this device as a daily driver over the other offerings.
All three devices run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Cyanogen OS 13 atop it allowing increased customisation and configuration for the users.
Pre-Orders for the Spark start today (28th June 2016) with general sale opening July 12th.
