Honor Play – A Gaming Phone From Honor – IFA 2018

Today at IFA, Honor announced the Honor Play, a gaming centric phone for the global market, at a very competitive price.

Honor Play

The Honor Play is the latest device to be aimed squarely at the gaming market. Following hot on the heels of the Razer Phone and Asus’ ROG device, the Honor Play will be available in Midnight Black, Navy Blue and Ultra Violet colour options, and retail from £279/€329.

The Honor Play is powered by the Kirin 970 SoC with 4GB and 6GB variants, both sporting a 3750 mAh battery, 6.3″ notched 2340 x 1080 LCD display, and a 16MP and 2MP dual rear camera along with a 16MP selfie shooter. You’ll be able to turn off the notch for those who have strange convulsions at the mere sight of the cut out.

All the other usual 2018 staples are here including a fingerprint scanner, EIS, NPU (AI chip), and an unusual aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

Honor Play

Honor also announced an Honor Play Player Edition and Player Edition Red variant which delivers a slightly more gamer-centric design, with a slightly higher retail price starting at €349 and available from their HiHonor store.
