Android 7.0 Nougat may be launched on 22nd August

Nexus time – and with it, Android 7.0 Nougat time – is rapidly approaching, and Telus may have just given us the possible launch date for the latest version of Android. They’ve revealed the date in an update schedule post on their forums stating that the Nexus 6P and 5X will receive the upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat on Monday, the 22nd of August. That date sounds pretty suspicious as it’s exactly the same date as LG is pushing out their Nougat Preview to select G5 users in South Korea.

Nougat guesses or factual information?

Of course we’re still talking about rumours here, so that date is nowhere near being definitive until the update actually gets pushed out to N6P and N5X users. Another important note is that these update lists are maintained by Community Managers, and while they may have got some inside information coming from Telus we don’t have got, we can’t guarantee it was just an educated guess. The page also states the following about the update schedule list: “dates are approximate and subject to change”. Making it look even more like an educated guess instead of the real launch date.

Take the schedule above as you want, and if you’ve got a better guess when the update will actually arrive to the Nexus devices, feel free to leave a comment in the comment section below. All theories are welcome! So, do you think Nexus device owners will be able to enjoy the final build of Android 7.0 Nougat on Monday? Do let us know in the comments below!
