Honor 6X Announced: Disruptive Price Point

The smartphone brand, made for ‘digital natives’ is at it again. The Honor 6X has been announced and it’s compelling!

The Honor 6X follows 2015’s Honor 5X in delivering great specifications, but at a price point most won’t baulk at. In the last year we’ve seen a number of “budget” handsets looking to divert the market away from the big hitters, and Honor themselves looked to do just that with a flagship product, the Honor 8, costing just £339 unlocked.

Let’s run down the Honor 6x specs:

  • 5.5″ 1080p IPS LCD display (403ppi) with 2.5D curved glass
    • 450nit brightness
  • Huawei Kirin Octa-core 655 Processor (4 x 2.1Ghz cores, 4 x 1.7Ghz cores)
  • 32GB internal storage (64GB in some regions)
  • 3GB RAM (4GB in some regions) with expandable storage
  • Dual 12MP + 2MP rear facing wide aperture (f/0.95 – f/16) camera
    • 1080p video supported
  • 8MP front facing ‘selfie’ camera
  • Wifi 802.11 b/g/n – 2.4Ghz, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB port, GPS, Fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack
  • 3340 mAh battery with fast charging

The Honor 6X will be available in Gold, Grey and Silver colour variants and we like that, to date, they’ve not sprinkled a dash of marketing dust on those namings; we all know what Grey, Gold and Silver look like. Check out some product pictures:

Those lucky enough to be at CES 2017 should be able to get hands on with the new device, and the rest of us in the UK won’t have to wait too long either. The Honor 6X is be on sale right now (3rd January 2017) from their vMall, Amazon, as well as Three UK, priced at a potentially disruptive £224.99.
