At the Max Your View event yesterday in London, Honor not only took the wraps off of the Honor 7X, but also the brand new Honor View10 (Yes, that is actually how it is stylised).
The Honor View10 is the real flagship of the Honor lineup, using the flagship processor from Huawei Subsidiary, HiSilicon, the Kirin 970. A Massive 5.99″ 2160x1080p IPS LTPS LCD Screen, and a facial scanning feature that Honor claims is able to best even faceID on the new iPhones. Honor managed to do a lot of cool things on the View10, with packing the huge 6″ screen into a body not that much larger than the iPhone 8 Plus, they put the fastest processor available to them inside of it, a variant with either 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal storage, or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with the chance to expand it with a MicroSD card. Just like with the Mate 10 Pro, the Honor View10 can use Dual SIMs, with both SIMs having 4G LTE and VoLTE as well, very neat.
What Honor is really hyping up here though is the AI smarts of the View10, stating that with the Honor Magic last year, they were the first to try a truly AI powered phone, and with the View10 they’re pushing it further, utilising the NPU (neural Processing Unit) in the Kirin 970 to do some amazing things, one of which is advanced facial recognition. One of the things Honor showed us yesterday was what I can only describe as a shameless clone of animoji, except with one difference, these were way more detailed. Do you want to puff out a single cheek? that’ll work. Make your eyebrows wave? that’ll work too. Honor takes in more details than Apple does, and in return, you get really detailed facial maps. One of the things Honor was especially proud of was their faceID unlocking system, stating that this is the first system secure enough to be used for payment processing. They also snuck in a feature where if your eyes are closed, it won’t unlock, though I would have thought this would be a default.
Camera setup wise, the View10 is basically a Huawei Mate 10/Pro, and that’s a good thing because those cameras are awesome and this brings even better imaging down to a more accessible price. £449 is the price that the Honor View10 will command, and that is an absolute steal, whilst I myself am not a fan of certain parts, such as the front fingerprint scanner and the LCD display, I can see people that will be very excited about this, and the View10 could be a real hit.
